The Bubonic Plague (Black Death)
The Bubonic Plague was a disease spreading through Europe in the 1300's. The plague originated in Asia but through trade came to Europe. The fleas carried the disease and the fleas were carried by rats. The rats got on the ships going to Europe. The fleas jumped off the rats and bit the humans and they instantly became sick. It killed 1/3 of the population, the rich and the poor. Some groups were not affected by the plague but many were. The doctors wore gloves and a black cloke and air mask.
